Categories
PIANO SOLO (held in two rounds)
PIANO DUO (held in one round)
Age Groups and duration of performances:
The age of LIVE COMPETITION participants is determined as of July 1,
2026.
Age Groups
- Age Group A (6–9 years): up to 10 minutes
- Age Group B (10–12 years): up to 12 minutes
- Age Group C (13–15 years): up to 15 minutes
- Age Group D (16–18 years): up to 20 minutes
- Age Group E (19–26 years): up to 25 minutes
Duration of the performance is set for each round separately.
Repertoire Requirements for
LIVE COMPETITION
Category: PIANO SOLO
(Held in two rounds)
All pieces must be selected from different musical periods and performed from memory.
First Round
- Two pieces from different musical periods
- One of the pieces must be from the Baroque period
Second Round
- Two or three pieces from different musical periods.
- One of the pieces must be from the Baroque period (you may repeat the piece performed in the First Round or present a new work from the Baroque era).
- It is recommended to include one piece by a composer of the participant’s nationality or an Armenian composer.
Category: PIANO DUO
(Held in one round)
- Two pieces from different musical periods
- One piece must be from the Baroque or Classical period
- The other piece must be from the Romantic or Contemporary period
Piano Duo Age Policy
The age category for Piano Duo participants is determined by the average age of both performers (sum of ages divided by two).
LIVE COMPETITION Timeline
(1–7 July, 2026)
- 31 May, 2026: Application Deadline
- July 1 — 19:00 — Opening Ceremony
- July 2–4 — 10:00 — First Round auditions (Piano Solo & Piano Duo)
- July 4 — 22:00 — Announcement of the results
- July 5-6 — 10:00 — Second Round auditions (Piano Solo)
- July 7 — 19:00 — Grand Final Concert & Award Ceremony
Performance & Rehearsal Information
Each successful participant will receive an assigned date and time for their performance.
All participants will be given access to the provided venue facilities for rehearsal prior to their performance.
- The results of the Final Round will determine which participants are invited to perform in the Gala Concert.
- The jury reserves the right to interrupt or shorten any performance at its own discretion.
- The jury may also declare any prize “not awarded”. All legal claims against such decisions are strictly excluded.
- The jury directs the artistic and procedural aspects of the competition, including (but not limited to): selecting the pieces to be performed at the Gala Concert, requesting shortened versions of certain pieces when necessary.
- All Second and Third Round performances of the GeneralBass BMIPC will be streamed live on our official Facebook page and YouTube channel.
Important Notes
- Participation in the Gala Concert is obligatory for the winners of the Grand Prizes and First Prizes.
- Special Prize winners may also be invited to perform in the Gala Concert, if possible.
- All prizes will be presented during the Gala Concert at the Awards Ceremony.
- The corresponding prize money will be transferred to a bank account specified by the prize recipient.
- Prizes must be collected in person at the ceremony; prizes will not be mailed or forwarded afterward.
Jugment criteria
In assessing each performance, equal importance is given to:
- Overall musical impression
- Accurate reading and execution of the score
- Difficulty of the program
- Musicality and technical abilities of the performer
- Artistic expression, energy, and charisma conveyed on stage
- All jury decisions are final and not subject to appeal
Media, Recording, and Rights
- The organizer reserves the right to make photo, video, and audio recordings during the competition and Gala Concert, and to use all recorded material for advertising and promotional purposes.
- Participants agree that they have no claim to royalties from any recordings made during the competition or from radio, internet, or TV broadcasts of the event.
- Any photo, video, or audio recording by persons other than those authorized by the competition office is strictly prohibited.
- All changes or printing errors reserved.
Acknowledgements
- Participants who achieve the Grand Prize will be awarded Cash Prizes, Certificates, and a Winner’s Cup, and will be officially announced as the Winners of the GeneralBass BMIPC 2026.
- Participants who receive the First Prize will be awarded Cash Prizes, Certificates, Medals, and the distinguished title of Laureate of the GeneralBass BMIPC 2026.
- Participants who receive the Second or Third Prize will be awarded Certificates, Medals, and the distinguished title of Laureate of the GeneralBass BMIPC 2026.
- All participants of the Second Round will receive Diplomas and will be granted the honorary title of Diploma Holder (Diplomant).
- All participants of the First Round who do not advance to the Second Round will receive Certificates of Participation.
Minors (Participants Under 18)
Parents or legal guardians of participants under 18, upon registration, automatically give their consent for the organizer to use the participant’s name, artist biography, photos, and videos on the official website and social media platforms of GeneralBass BMIPC.

- Age group A: 20000 AMD (In USD)
- Age group B: 25000 AMD (In USD)
- Age group C: 30000 AMD (In USD)
- Age group D: 35000 AMD (In USD)
- Age group E: 40000 AMD (In USD)
The entrance fee is a non-refundable.

Video Requirements
- For category Piano Solo, upload two separate videos (one for each round), each with its own link.
- For category Piano Duo and Piano Ensemble upload one video with it's own link.
- Videos must be uploaded to YouTube or Vimeo with public or unlisted access.
- It is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure that the links work properly.
- Insert the video links in the application form.
Video Title must include:
- GeneralBass BMIPC 2026
- Participant’s full name
- Age Group

- Full titles of all performed pieces

Technical Requirements
- The performer’s face and hands must be clearly visible at all times
- The recording must be made entirely by the applicant
- One continuous video containing the required two or three pieces must be recorded for each round.
- Performances should ideally be recorded in one continuous take, without editing, cuts, or interruptions.
- It is also acceptable to submit recordings where individual pieces are recorded separately and then combined into one video, provided that:
• all pieces are presented in full
• the performance is clearly visible
• the video accurately represents the participant’s playing
- The final submission must be presented as one video link per round.
Compliance
Participants must fully comply with all Video Requirements.
Non-compliance results in automatic disqualification.

All video submissions for the Online Competition are evaluated by the jury.
